The story behind the look

Osaka returned to Wimbledon in a custom Nike look built around light, layered ruffles. A gauzy band travelled from the right shoulder across a cropped racerback top, above a skirt whose angled tiers gave the white silhouette unusual volume.

She wore the outfit during her first-round victory over Diane Parry on 1 July, her first Wimbledon match win since 2018. Small dark-green details sat within the otherwise white ensemble.
