The coral contour

Coral and powder rose panels shaped a streamlined Melbourne racerback.

The story behind the look

Caroline Wozniacki’s 2016 Australian Open dress belonged to the adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade spring/summer collection. The brand named its two colours Coral Pink and Powder Rose Pink. She wore the dress against Yulia Putintseva at Melbourne Park on 18 January.

The contrast between the warm central panel and pale sides gave the racerback silhouette a carefully drawn outline. Adidas described mesh ventilation, Climacool fabric and bonded seams as practical parts of the design. Those construction choices connected the clean colour blocking to the demands of movement and summer heat.
