The story behind the look

Cut-outs became a signature of Williams’s early Reebok wardrobe. At Wimbledon in 2000, the white version used the garment’s construction to stand apart within the tournament’s narrow colour palette.

On 8 July she defeated defending champion Lindsay Davenport to win her first Grand Slam singles title. The outfit belongs to the beginning of her five-title Wimbledon record.
