White’s full-length white bodysuit became one of the most memorable images of Wimbledon in 1985. She wore it during her first-round match against Pam Shriver, turning an otherwise traditional colour into an unfamiliar tennis silhouette.
White said Pony developed the suit after she proposed it. Wimbledon’s own history records the outfit as one of the decade’s most extraordinary appearances at the Championships.
